RAIN

Hi all,

 

This is just a short note to ask everyone to pray for us. In the last 24hours we have had over 7 ½ inches of rain and it is still raining steady. That much rain means that there are landslides all around us! In fact we can see from our window several that took out the trail across the way. I also talked with the folks in Lita and the rain there has washed out several bridges and there are a couple of houses that have slid. Our own neighbor Milton came up here with his family and whatever they could carry as there are landslides on three sides of his house. There are also no lights in Lita so I don’t know how long the cell tower batteries will hold out, or how long it will take them to get the lights back on. The road between here and Lita I am sure is blocked in multiple places, which means our car is not going anywhere soon. 

 

A kind of ironic thing is that we ran out of gas yesterday, but we had just installed a wood stove. I guess we will be putting it to the test over the next few days!
